About Me
Hi! I'm Nick Tietje. I recently graduated from Northeastern with my M.S. in Computer Science, after taking a slightly winding path here: I started in chemical engineering, picked up programming along the way, and realized I liked building software enough to change the shape of my degree and career around it.
What I enjoy most about coding is turning everyday friction into something useful. LifeLinked came from wanting a better Magic life tracker. Wizard's Archive came from wanting better tools for running and organizing D&D campaigns. I like projects where I can start with a problem I actually understand, then keep shaping the details until the tool feels good to use.
Outside of software, I'm usually reading sci-fi or fantasy, playing board games, trying new video games, or cooking something that may or may not set off the smoke alarm. Here's a more detailed list of things I enjoy in life:
- •Software Development: Web apps, mobile apps, and other random tools.
- •Board Games: My favorites include Magic: The Gathering, Wingspan, Dominion, Sheriff of Nottingham, and Star Realms.
- •Reading: Science fiction, fantasy, dystopian/political fiction: Dune, Red Rising, etc.
- •Video Games: Elden Ring, Expedition 33, Hollow Knight, Dota 2, Hades, Minecraft, Terraria, Enter the Gungeon, Stardew Valley, and many more.
